Laboratory Information Systems Certificate Program

This specialized course of study is designed for those students whose primary objective is to manage computer information systems in the clinical laboratory. Emphasis is placed on laboratory related uses (basic laboratory language programming, hardware and information systems concepts, database management, laboratory instrumentation software) in a health-care setting. Training will also incorporate the skills necessary to become a laboratory information systems manager.

Recommended Prerequisites:

  • Introduction to computer science course (CSE 110 or equivalent)

  • Foundations of computer science I, computer science I, computer organization and systems programming, management information systems, internship
