Maria Lagade, MD
Anesthesia Technology Program Director
Dr. Maria Lagade is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Pediatrics and Clinical Health Sciences at Stony Brook. She received her BS and MD degrees from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She completed residency in anesthesiology at the Albert Einstein Medical College in New York and a Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology at the Boston Children’s Hospital. She stayed on as an instructor in anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. Professor Lagade joined the faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology at Stony Brook in 1979 as the Founding Member of Pediatric Anesthesia. At Stony Brook, in addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Lagade is active in teaching residents and medical students in anesthesiology and is the director of the Anesthesiology Technology program jointly sponsored by the School of Health Technology and Management and the Department of Anesthesiology of the School of Medicine. Over the years, she and has served on many committees for the department and the Stony Brook University Medical Center. Professor Lagade is also the author of several clinical manuscripts.
