The Long Island Digital Inclusion Coalition (LIDIC) is a collaborative group of Long Island community organizations, libraries, government entities, education institutions and businesses focused on addressing the three “pillars” of the digital divide – internet access, device access, and digital skills – on Long Island.

Schmidt Futures Logo

This coalition was created with the help of The New York Digital Inclusion Fund, which aims to increase the number of digital inclusion partnerships across communities throughout New York state to advance digital equity by addressing barriers to digital inclusion. The Fund is supported by Schmidt Futures, and managed by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance.

Founded by Eric and Wendy Schmidt, Schmidt Futures is a philanthropic initiative that brings talented people together in networks to prove out their ideas and solve hard problems in science and society. The Digital Inclusion Fund builds on broader efforts to promote shared prosperity by making high-speed internet universally accessible and affordable, and to use that increased accessibility to grow access to public benefits.
