Tuition Assistance

To help with tuition and fees associated with this program, students can seek scholarship opportunities such as the Platinum Scholarship or scholarships listed on the School of Health Professions Scholarship Opportunities page. Veterans and Service Members may also qualify for assistance through GI Bill benefits.

GI Bill Benefits

Veterans and Service Members who qualify for GI Bill benefits may be able to apply their benefits to help with the cost of tuition, as well as books and supplies. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs determines an individual's eligibility, rates, and housing allowances and publishes that information to their website.

Students who believe they may qualify are encouraged to apply for GI Bill benefits. After receiving approval and obtaining a Certificate of Eligibility, you can apply those benefits by filling out this form.

The Stony Brook University Office of Military and Veteran Student Services is available to answer questions for students and has published a video guide on how to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility.

Refunds and Withdrawals

All withdrawals and refunds are managed through the CVENT platform. Students can cancel their registration using the link provided to them in the CVENT confirmation email they received at time of registration.

Refund Cut-off Dates

CVENT automatically enforces the course's refund policy. The cut-off periods for full or partial refunds are as follows.

  • Students who cancel their registration by midnight the day prior to the first day of class receive a 100% refund.
  • Students who cancel their registration on or after the first day of class, but prior to midnight before the third day of class receive a 75% refund.
  • Students who cancel their registration on or after the third day of class are not eligible for any refund.

Refund Waiting Period

Students who paid for the course in full at time of registration will have their refund processed automatically and should receive any tuition they are entitled to have refunded the same day, in accordance with the refund policy.

Students who paid for the course in part at time of registration will receive the tuition they are entitled to 14 days after the first day of the course. For the purposes of refund eligibility, the date the student canceled their registration on CVENT is used when determining refund eligibility.
