Dale A. Coffin is an Occupational Therapist since 1993, and completed her undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University and received a MS Degree & Certificate of Advanced Professional Studies in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College. She received her Doctorate degree in Higher Education at Grand Canyon University in 2019. Her area of specialty is in Pediatrics (Early Intervention/Pre-School) and Sensory Integration (SPIT Certified). Dr. Coffin began teaching at Long Island University in 2012 in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Her roles included Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Program Coordinator and most recently the Program Director.
Dale has participated and published research studies including Service Learning, the use of the Wii with Pre-School populations and therapeutic intervention with Head-Start schools. She has also presented at AOTA conferences and conducted continuing education presentations. In 2014 Dr. Coffin began the Service Learning Trips to Belize, in conjunction with The Inspiration Center. Through her guidance, hundreds of children are serviced each year with needed therapy, equipment and plans of care.
