To promote the transition from OT student to entry level practitioner through quality fieldwork education.

To prepare future OT practitioners who demonstrate best-practice and become leaders in health care in clinical and research arenas.
Fieldwork Philosophy:
- support the Stony Brook University mission in provide comprehensive undergraduate, graduate, and professional education of the highest quality
- promote and facilitate student success in fieldwork
- provide an environment of collaboration and communication with each student
- maintain communication with each student during the fieldwork experience
- provide fieldwork education in sites that support the mission of the OT program
- provide fieldwork education in sites that model best practice and are congruent with the curriculum design of the OT program
- proactively seek out and expand fieldwork opportunities in emerging areas of practice
- maintain current resources for selection of fieldwork
- ensure in compliance with the ACOTE Standards for Fieldwork Education
