Inken Prochilo has been an occupational therapy practitioner since 2006. She received her Post-professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2023 and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Stony Brook University in 2013. Inken began her journey as an occupational therapy assistant, graduating from Suffolk Community College with an Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy degree. Inken’s primary work setting has been in pediatrics, both in school-based and homecare before transitioning to academia as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for Stony Brook University’s Occupational Therapy program in 2017. Inken is a member of AOTA, the New York State Occupational Therapy Association, and the NY/NJ Metropolitan Occupational Therapy Educational Council. In the future, Inken plans to use her knowledge and experience gained from her doctoral research to continue to educate therapists, students, and faculty on the importance of giving back to the profession by educating the next generation of fieldwork students.

Inken has been married to her supportive husband, Nick, since 1979, has three children, a son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren. In her spare time, Inken enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, bicycling, gardening, traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.
