The Respiratory Care Program at Stony Brook University has an outstanding track record of job placement for our graduates. In fact, most of our students have several job offers before graduation.
Stony Brook graduates are in high demand due to their multi-competent training which enables graduates to obtain jobs in three distinct fields: respiratory care, cardiovascular technology and polysomnography. Our graduates also work in a variety of subspecialties which include critical care, cardiac catherization, neonatal and pediatric care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, home care, patient transport, emergency care, and pulmonary diagnostics.
Salaries for entry level positions for baccalaureate degree candidates in the New York Metropolitan area range upwards from $90,000, depending on specialty and job location. Many of the positions are 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week.
