ASCP Recruitment Event - Brentwood High School - Brentwood, New York
Recruiting a pipeline of new students into the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program is key to the School of Health Technology and Management’s continued success in graduating competent Clinical Laboratory Scientists. As such, there have been efforts made to create awareness in pre-college students about Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Clinical Assistant Professor Jeannie Guglielmo is an American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Ambassador who speaks to science students throughout various high schools on Long Island about careers in medical laboratory science. ASCP is a professional medical society representing the pathologists and certified laboratory professionals who are responsible for collecting and analyzing human cells, tissues, and fluids in order to detect the onset or progression of disease.
Medical laboratory professionals are a key component to a patient’s healthcare. They provide test results and consultation to the physicians to allow them to order the correct tests and create the most effective therapies for patients.
