Bill Snyder is living proof that a degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences doesn’t necessarily mean spending a lifetime in the lab. Since his graduation from Stony Brook University’s Clinical Laboratory Sciences program, he’s traveled the world many times and built an impressive resume that includes applications specialist, group and international marketing and change leadership expert for some of the major pharmaceutical and medical diagnostic testing corporations like Roche Diagnostics, Bayer Corporation, and Schering-Plough Corporation. Snyder says, “Clinical Laboratory Sciences was a perfect fit for me. It enabled me to work with equipment and my hands and use my mind to make sound decisions. I’m still amazed at how often I apply the CLS courses to what I do now, and if I had it to do all over again, I’d pursue my education exactly the same way.” Snyder earned a master’s degree in Healthcare Policy and Management at Stony Brook University so he could pursue high-level opportunities in the medical business sector. “My desire to do so had a lot to do with the courses I took as an undergraduate, which covered a diverse range of health care topics and opened my eyes to the fact that there are so many things you can do with health care,” he said. Snyder continues to have fond memories, “It was just a great experience. It truly has a state-of-the-art curriculum and helped shape me into a leader, and that’s so important” |
