H: Hybrid course. The student would need to come to campus for some of the laboratory portions of the course. This face to face time will include wet laboratories and hands on laboratory techniques. Each course is different but most require the student to visit campus a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 times during the course offering.
If the student completes the program and receives a BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Stony Brook, they are eligible for ASCP certification and New York State licensure.
This program is NACCLS approved because it follows the traditional CLS program at Stony Brook University. The difference is the delivery not the course content or program requirements.
