William Brennan took his first steps into the field of radiology back in 2013, where he began to practice his craft in diagnostic radiography. Upon graduation from his studies, his first career opportunity was in computed tomography (CT), for which he welcomed the challenge of learning a new modality. After receiving his license to perform CT in 2015, he practiced as a full-time technologist until he was given the chance to expand his studies even further by learning magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In 2017 he received his MRI license and had finally found his calling inside the field of radiology and even accepted a position at a Stony Brook facility as a senior member of the MRI team, for which he helped develop protocols and standards for medical imaging. In 2020 he was offered guest lecture opportunities here at Stony Brook University centered around MRI procedures. This opened a whole new world for him as he first began to see himself as an educator. Soon after, he pursued the position of clinical instructor and adjunct professor, all while working to obtain his master’s degree in communication studies. In 2025 he first stepped into the role of clinical professor and program director, hoping to give back to a field that has blessed his family and him with a beautiful life.
