Amy Reischer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, a Bachelor of Science from the Touro College PA program, and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant from Stony Brook University’s Post Professional Master's Program.
She spent her career working clinically, in administrative leadership and then in health care technology before joining the Department of PA Education as a full time faculty member in April 2025. Amy worked clinically in cardiology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine before taking on the Chief PA role at NYP-Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2007, where she was instrumental in building and growing the PA staff within the Department of Medicine. She oversaw the department's growth to Lower Manhattan Hospital and transitioned to Site Director for Cornell and LMH in 2016. In 2018, she joined NYP- Brooklyn Methodist Hospital as Site Director to assist with the transition when they joined NYP.
As Chief PA and later Director, she focused on growth and education. She implemented various education and training programs, including lecture series, hands-on procedural services, and POCUS training. She also partnered with PA programs across the Northeast to mentor and recruit students. She is thrilled to be joining the Stony Brook PA Program in the role of Director of Clinical Education, where she is primarily responsible for the administrative
oversight of the clinical phase of the program.
She will be involved in teaching courses throughout the first and second years and will oversee clinical rotation coordination. She grew up on Long Island, where she still lives today, and enjoys spending free time with her family and friends.
