PREFERENCE is given to applicants with:
- A minimum overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
- No more than two outstanding science prerequisite courses at the time of application; outstanding sciences cannot be in the same subject area.
HEALTH RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- A total of 100 hours of volunteer or work experience with a physical therapist. At least 50 volunteer or work experience hours must be documented and submitted through PTCAS at the time of application. The PTCAS application file can be updated with the remaining hours prior to the close of the relevant admissions cycle.

OTHER ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Three references; it is required that at least one of these references be from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)report is required if English is not your first language. A minimum score of 90 is required.
- Beginning with the 2024 admissions cycle, the Stony Brook DPT Program is NO LONGER requiring the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for admissions.
