Call for Public Comments

The master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology in the School of Health Professions at Stony Brook University is undergoing evaluation for Initial Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). As part of the evaluation process, the CAA invites public input about the master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology. 

How can I provide comments?

Public input can be submitted during the CAA site visit, or, prior to the meeting, in writing. 

  1. You are invited to provide written or oral comments to the CAA at a public meeting scheduled:

  2. You are invited to submit written comments to CAA no later than October 30, 2024, in order to be received by the site visitor team. Comments may be submitted by email (accreditation@asha.org), fax (301-296-8570), or mailed to Accreditation Public Comment, Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA), 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850.Written testimony must include your name, address, telephone contact information, and relationship to the program in Speech-Language Pathology at Stony Brook University. 

What can I comment on?

Comments must relate to the Speech-Language Pathology program’s compliance with the published Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (Standards) and state the name of the program.
