Provide a pre-health student the medical terminology and human anatomy needed for the many diverse roles in the heatlhcare system. Through didactic and experiential techniques students will be exposed to medical terminology and human anatomy by reviewing body systems including the digestive system, urinary system, integumentary system, reproductive system, respiratory system, endocrine system, nervous systems and special senses, musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and lymphatic systems and the blood stream. Students will learn how to build a medical vocabulary and understand the importance of precise communication in the delivery of healthcare. Students will use the medical vocabulary learned to identify its relation to human anatomy and clinical scenarios. Students will be introduced to medical professions, medical conditions, and the technology utilized to diagnose and treat patients. Open to non HSC students. |
