HAN 486 Principles and Practices of Radiation Therapy 
4 credits

This course introduces students to the practice and technical aspects of radiation therapy. An overview of cancer includes: statistics, epidemiology, etiology, patient education and assessment, and pharmacology and drug administration. Radiation therapy techniques specific to anatomical sites will be demonstrated and treatment outcome statistics discussed. Course also explores treatment options available to cancer patients. Prerequisite: restricted to students approved for appropriate senior year track in the Health Science major.
