Audra attended Stony Brook University as an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. After two years, she transferred to St. Joseph's College where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education. In 1996, Audra worked for the Office of Student Services at Stony Brook University in the areas of financial aid, registration and records. In July of 1997, she joined the Physician Assistant Education program. In June of 2007, she completed her Master of Science Degree in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Capella University.
Her primary responsibility is coordinating the yearly admissions process each year and has done presentations and panels related to best practices in PA admissions. As part of her other program responsibilities, Audra provides academic advising to potential students as well as does an Information session presentation six times a year for potential applicants to the program. She attends all University open houses and is also actively involved with the pre-physician assistant undergraduate students at Stony Brook University. In the program, Audra serves as a contact person for the current first and second-year PA students providing information and assistance with orientation activities, registration, financial aid issues, graduation, state licensing, and NCCPA certification. She also is the contact person that receives potential employment opportunities and distributes them weekly to alumni. Audra also supervises program secretarial staff and work-study students.
In addition, Audra serves on the School of Health Professions Admissions, Recruitment, and Publications Committees. She also is a member of the Council on Admissions and Recruitment which is a subdivision of the Physician Assistant Education Association and is a national admissions committee to assist all of the programs across the country with their admissions policies, procedures and cycles.
