Biography
Shawn Edouard is a two-time alumnus of the School, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2005, and a paramedic program certificate in 2006. He has been working in the emergency medical services field since 2006. Previously, Shawn was a per-diem paramedic for Setauket Fire Department, Commack Ambulance, and N. Lindenhurst Fire District. He has been a paramedic for Stony Brook Hospital since graduating from the paramedic program, and was promoted to a flight paramedic for Stony Brook Hospital in 2007. Shawn was an EMS supervisor for the hospital starting in 2013, and since 2019 is the Assistant Director.
Shawn currently teaches for the Stony Brook School of Health Professions as a Clinical Assistant Professor since 2017. He teaches HAN 300 Health Care Issues, HAN 335 Health Care Ethics, and HAN 477 Medical Emergencies. He has also served as an instructor of Anatomy and Physiology I.
Shawn currently lives on Long Island and has two boys named Isaiah and Elijah.
